The 17th annual Webby award nominees were announced Tuesday, and a look at the roster shows just how grown-up the Internet has become in those years: Many of the project creators are established entertainment industry royalty, such as Tom Hanks, "Electric City"; Charlize Theron, "Charlize Theron Gets Hacked"; and Jerry Seinfeld, "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee."
The Webbys recognize achievements in all aspects of Internet culture, including websites, interactive advertising and media, online film and video, mobile, apps and social.
This year there were more than 11,000 entries, which were winnowed down to five nominees in each category.
