In Pittsburgh for Labor Day, President Bush meets the Neville Island crowd after touring a training program at the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners headquarters in Neville. Fong: "It was the second year in a row I had the Labor Day assignment (the previous year, it had been Al Gore visiting). It's a very long day, because you stay in a pool of photographers beginning when the president touches down at the airport. Then you wait around for hours for security to allow you a few seconds when you're in a good position to photograph him. When you're finally that close, you'd better take advantage of it." The story.
