Material Girl’s NYC Apartment Now Immaterial

Three years after she picked up a double-wide townhouse on the Upper East Side for $32 million, Madonna has decided it’s time to divest herself of her “old” apartment overlooking the west side of Central Park.

The Material Girl has listed her 6,000-square-foot Harperley Hall duplex on W. 64th Street for $23.5 million. The 6-bedroom, 8-bathroom co-op had been Madonna’s pad for nearly 20 years, having bought a unit in the pre-war building overlooking Central Park back when she was Mrs. Sean Penn in 1985. Over the years, she added two additional units and created what Architectural Digest in a 2007 feature called Madonna’s low-key Manhattan escape.

The place is decked in Art Deco furnishings courtesy of Madonna’s brother, Christopher G. Ciccone, an interior designer, and includes a sound-proof gym where the sinewy pop icon liked to “feel the beat” during her in-home workouts.

Girl Gone Wilde

Olivia Wilde is packing it in for love. The “House” star has decamped from Tinseltown, buying a New York City apartment for $3.22 million and is listing her Los Angeles home for $2.495 million all for easy access to “Saturday Night Live” star Jason Sudeikis, her snuggle-mate.

Wilde’s real estate moves show just how important this relationship is, considering that Wilde just bought the 1929 Spanish-style villa at 2510 Chislehurst Place in L.A. in March 2011 for $2.295 million.

And she’s not only giving up the new house, she’s also giving up ground – literally. While the L.A. home came in at a grand 3,300 square feet, complete with library and media room, Wilde’s new NYC abode is a modest 2-bedroom, 2-bath with just about 1,950 square feet.

Eww Baby Baby, Ew Baby!

There’s no love lost between Usher and his ex wife, as evidenced by the R&B superstar’s decision to go ahead and list the massive Roswell, GA mansion that Tameka Raymond continued to inhabit after their contentious 2009 divorce.

According to their divorce agreement, Usher had the right to list the property as long as he gave his ex 60 days notice. Well, it is so noted that the 12,500-square-foot mansion that sits on 4 acres is now on the market for $3.2 million. Hope she’s ready for the open house.

Ricky Martin Must Really Heart NY

Puerto Rican crooner Ricky Martin, who was just named People magazine’s Sexiest Man on Broadway, has completed his real estate exodus from Miami Beach by selling his stunning Golden Beach home for $12.6 million.

According to The Real Deal, Martin has finally completed the sale of the 8,600-square-foot Mediterranean villa at 641 Ocean Blvd., just a few miles north of South Beach. Martin bought the place for $16.2 million in 2007, but never lived in the home.

Martin and his family, including his partner and their two young twin boys, have since taken up residence in New York City, where Martin is starring in the Broadway hit “Evita.”
