From Pittsburgh, Elkins is about 3 hours and Durbin is about 3 hours, 40 minutes.

Castaway Caboose: $260 for the first night, $180 for the second night and $150 for the third night for up to four people. Additional occupants (up to six maximum) are $30 each.

Cheat Mountain Salamander: 

9-hour trips: Adult (12-64) $79, child (4-11) $68, senior (65+) $77, military $76, children 3 and under free.

6.5-hour trips: Adult (12-64) $62, child (4-11) $54, senior (65+) $60, military $59, children 3 and under free. 

Price includes sandwich buffet and beverages served in the “Red Spruce” dining car. Tickets purchased the day of the trip will be $2 additional.

3-hour trip (only available on dates when the 9-hour trip is scheduled): Adult (12-64) $42, senior (65+), $40 child (4-11) $34, military $39, children age 3 and under ride free. Ticket price includes lunch with beverages served en route.

Reservations are encouraged for most trains and required for the Mountain Explorer Dinner Train and should be made at least one month in advance. 

Only trains that depart from Durbin are wheelchair accessible. Motion sickness is not common, but be prepared —it can happen.
