The Place: The Westin Convention Center, Downtown, on Wednesday night.
The Purpose: To celebrate the 25th anniversary of POWER, an organization that helps women reclaim their lives from addiction, during POWER Promises, A Night of Hope.
The Party: For the first time, an art exhibit curated by Jeff Jarzynka was part of the festivities, which began with a VIP reception and silent auction. Twenty-five local artists were chosen to represent Pittsburgh’s growth. Emcee Brenda Waters of KDKA-TV introduced U.S. Attorney, David Hickton as keynote speaker. Former Mayor Tom Murphy was the auctioneer.
The People: Among the nearly 500 who came to celebrate were board president Erin Felix, director Rosa Davis, honorary chair Leslie Davis, event chair Terry Fedele, actor David Conrad, Arthur and Debbie Scully, Dean Thompson and Lauren Schneider, Lisa Acquaviva, Judi Owen, Mary Prezioso and Sherree Goldstein.
