When and where: Wednesday night on the Gateway Clipper.
They kissed a pig and they liked it: The Boys & Girls Club of Western Pennsylvania held its biggest fundraiser to date, with more than 200 guests celebrating the “Kiss a Pig” candidates who worked hard over three months to raise about $66,000 for the organization. The candidates who raised the most money for the club puckered up for Nola the Mini Pig. The three top fundraisers were: Jim Barry, executive director of the LaRosa Boys & Girls Club in McKeesport and BGCWP’s vice president; Mike Hepler, BGCWP president and CEO; and Dominic Panucci, program director at the Carnegie Boys & Girls Club. Partygoers also enjoyed a spirited live auction, which included two tickets for a group Zulu Nyala African safari. Also honored at the event were the 2015 Youths of the Year, who were chosen based on their commitment to the Boys & Girls Club. Congratulations go to Hunter Smutney, this year’s Boys & Girls Clubs of Western PA Ed J. Ferris Sr. Memorial Award Youth of the Year. He grew up in the Carnegie Club.
