10th annual Mt. Lebanon Public Library Garden Party

When and Where: July 12 in the Mt. Lebanon Public Library's courtyard garden, the night before the Garden Tour, now in its 24th year.

The Party: Library supporters enjoyed live music, great hors d'oeuvres catered by Samantha Sloan (the chef/owner of Hungry for Time) and fun with friends and neighbors.

The Purpose: Proceeds from the Garden Tour help fund new technology, furniture, books, DVDs, magazines, programs for all ages and improvements to the building.

The Meadows Racetrack hosted Back to the Track Night

When and Where: July 11 at The Meadows Racetrack, North Strabane.

The Party: A charity race to benefit Variety the Children's Charity's "My Bike" program.

The Purpose: Meadows Standardbred Owners Association and others partners sponsored additional adaptive bikes to give children with disabilities the freedom of riding a bike. Callie, 8, who previously had received a bike, told the crowd: "I really love my bike, and I'm really thankful to be able to ride a bike!"

The Participants: State Sen. Tim Solobay, state Rep. Brandon Neuman (who won!), PNC Senior Vice President and "My Bike" Program co-chair Andrea Carelli, and former Pittsburgh Steelers/Variety board chair Mike Schneck.

25th annual St. Vincent Summer Theatre Gala

Time to Celebrate: More than 200 guests attended the 25th annual St. Vincent Summer Theatre Gala at the Robert S. Carey Student Center Lounge on July 11 to celebrate the 46th season of professional theater at the college with an evening of gourmet food, entertainment and the theater's production of "Jeeves in Bloom." Proceeds benefited the St. Vincent Summer Theatre.

#SEEN: Pat Reilly, Theatre Director Colleen Reilly, St. Vincent President Brother Norman W. Hipps, gala honorary co-chairs Joy and Stuart Pankin, Sharon M. Nies, Luke Latimer, and Summer Theatre Executive Director Father Bonaventure Curtis.

Familylinks 28th annual Lanny Frattare Golf Classic

When and Where: July 14 at St. Clair Country Club, Upper St. Clair.

The Party: More than 175 guests enjoyed a day of golf, followed by cocktails on the clubhouse patio and a dinner reception. Roughly $140,000 was raised for Familylinks.

#SEEN: Former Pittsburgh Penguin Phil Bourque, former Pittsburgh Penguin coach Eddie Johnston and former Pittsburgh Pirates manager Jim Leyland and wife Katie mingling at the cocktail hour; James and Electra Agras perusing the silent auction items; Vince Bianco of Wise, Bob Tudi of Tudi Mechanical Systems and Joseph Lucot, president and COO of Giant Eagle.

St. Clair Hospital's Summer Swing

Place and Purpose: A record breaking 500 guests attended St. Clair Hospital's annual fundraiser Summer Swing on Friday at St. Clair Country Club in Upper St. Clair. All proceeds benefit St. Clair Hospital Foundation.

Get your swing on: St. Clair Hospital celebrates 60 years this year, and partygoers were encouraged to dress 1950s style, as they took photos with vintage cars from the era, grooved to the sound of Billy Hartung and the Extraordinaires, who used vintage mikes to re-create the era and sang popular hits from the late 1940s and 1950s before drawing everyone out onto the dance floor with a lively selection of contemporary music.
