When and where: June 22 at the Rodef Shalom Congregation, Oakland.
Why: Rodef Shalom honored Fred Rogers posthumously with the Pursuer of Peace Award. It honors someone who has made a significant contribution to the pursuit of peace through fostering interfaith understanding, to address the ills of social justice, to help each individual reach his or her full potential and to bring peace to a world greatly in need of healing and repair. The award was accepted by his widow Joanne Rogers.
