Where, When, Why: Mansions on Fifth in Shadyside on Wednesday, where more than 70 local alumni from Yale, Harvard, Brown, Princeton and other distinctive schools joined for a networking happy hour and cake to celebrate Brown's 250th anniversary (and yes, everyone sang Happy Birthday!).
A Very Happy Hour: "Pittsburgh is going through a renaissance, both socially and economically," said Otto Chu, Yale Club of Pittsburgh president. "We want the Yale Club of Pittsburgh to help bring together bright and talented people ... and what better way than through happy hour?"
#SEEN: Newlyweds Dave and Leigh Coogan (who attended Harvard as an undergrad) met at University of Pittsburgh Law School. Board member Tony Bellino, who played football at Yale, now heads the Pittsburgh office of BloomBoard in Shadyside, a start-up that provides an online platform for school districts designed to empower professional development. He believes the Yale Club has helped bridge the gaps among alumni organizations. Michael Thompson from Brown is running for city council in District 3 with plans to better the South Side. Also in attendance were Leif Johnson Jr. (#SEENBestDressed), Bea Spolidoro, Eric Fisher, Liz Carter, Madeline Lemberg, Kristin Udvari, Alice Hirsch and Donald Bonk.
