The Place: Rodef Shalom Congregation in Oakland, Tuesday evening.

The Purpose: To hear author and inspirational speaker Liz Murray share her story of homelessness to Harvard during the National Council of Jewish Women Pittsburgh Section event.

The People: Event chairs Lynette Lederman, Laurie Gottlieb, Elyse Eichner, Susan Foreman Jordan and board president Paula Garret joined more than 200 guests for a dessert reception and book signing following the talk.

Pronouncement by Liz Murray: "Small doors open into large opportunities."
