In the course of its 26 years, the Cummerbund Society has grossed more than $213,000 for the neonatal unit and patient care at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC. Its members dress in black tie and meet once a year in the billiards room of the Duquesne Club, where they shoot the breeze as much as pool. Founded by Mac McIlrath, Chuck Voelker, Frank Marmion and Jim Smith, the tournament on Thursday drew a competitive bunch of 41 players, including Bob Beynon, who came in second after winner Greg Slavik. Representing Magee’s neonatal unit were Drs. Jon Watchko and Gary Silverman.
