Hispanic Heritage Month Gala held at Westin Convention Center

The Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce held its first Hispanic Heritage Month Gala Friday at the Westin Convention Center, with more than 250 guests supporting the inaugural effort. The evening chaired by Kate Paine was a benefIt for the PMAHHCC Foundation Educational Fund, which provides scholarships to local Hispanic college and graduate school students. Bert Alfonso, president of international operations for the Hershey Co., was the keynote speaker and was introduced by chamber president Ron Alvarado. Tonia Caruso served as emcee. Following cocktails and a Latin-themed dinner, guests danced to the beat of Noel Quintana's Latin Crew.
