The Thelma Lovette & Centre Avenue YMCAs held their sixth annual Hill of Hope Gala Saturday at the Marriott City Center, with Judge Joe and Darryl Ford Williams serving a honorary chairs for the evening. More than 200 guests were welcomed by board chair Charlene Newkirk and gala chairs Brenda Tate and Kimberly Slater-Wood, along with executive director Aaron Gibson. The Thelma Lovette Community Service Award was presented by Thomas Burley to William Blakey, wth additional remarks by YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh CEO Rig Riggins and an invocation by the Rev. Vincent Campbell before dinner and dancing to Southern Comfort.
