The Lorax would be proud. Friends of Hopital Albert Schweitzer Haiti highlighted the Haiti Timber Re-Introduction Project during the annual H'Art & Soul of Haiti fundraiser at WQED studios Saturday night. One million trees have been planted since 2006 in a massive reforestation effort. Matt Anderson, grandson of HTRIP founder Chris Snavely, was honored. Among those toasting his efforts and browsing the gallery of Haitian art and metalwork on sale were hospital CEO Louis Martin, board chair Lucy Rawson with Ian, retired Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Cynthia Baldwin with Arthur, Bill and Ann Gibbons Scherlis, Dr. Paul Caplan with his niece Debra, Dr. Bill Swartz, Barbara and Mike Granito, Doug Kreps with Connie, Jamini Davies, Tom and Jo Ann Succop, and Dr. Dennis English with Denise.
