Nothing livens up history like a little libation. So when word was out that the Senator John Heinz History Center was hosting a speakeasy Friday, more than 1,500 decided to slip in for a little bathtub gin. No secret passwords were necessary for the annual History Uncorked benefit, just a desire to dance, drink and dine. VIPs had their own little pre-party on the sixth floor, where event chair Jared Sodowski mingled with history center president Andy Masich. On display was an original speakeasy door covered with nails -- designed to thwart authorities with battering rams. Patrons dressed in the spirit of the times included Lucy Alton, Lea Guarino, Ashley Barna, Steve Yanity, Mike Bazzy, Maura Minteer, Colleen Coll, Carol Jarosz and Ken Schultz. Decorating the digs was Sean Gray.
