The Pennsylvania Resources Council will hold its third annual ReuseFest next Saturday in Mt. Lebanon and a household chemical collection July 12 at California University of Pennsylvania.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 28 at Jefferson Middle School, 21 Moffett St., Mt. Lebanon., residents can drop off bikes, medical supplies, usable building materials, clothing and household goods, gently used furniture and mattresses, art supplies, pet supplies, backpacks and other items for reuse by local nonprofit organizations.

All donated materials will be resold, repurposed or given to those in need in this area. The nonprofits include Animal Rescue League Shelter & Wildlife Center, Construction Junction, Free Ride, glcc Pittsburgh, Global Links, Goodwill, Off the Floor Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse.

Area residents can drop off cleaners, automotive fluids, paints, pesticides, pool chemicals and other household chemicals from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 12 in the parking lot of Adamson Stadium on California University of Pennsylvania’s upper campus.

The cost is  $2 per gallon (cash only). A certified contractor will be on site to process the hazardous wastes collected for proper disposal. Materials may be recycled, incinerated or safely buried in special landfills.

Collections will also be held Aug. 2 at the Boyce Park ski lodge parking lot, Sept. 13 at the Settler's Cabin Park wave pool parking lot and Oct. 11 at the Bradys Run recycling center in Beaver County.

Regent Square Garden Tour

The annual Regent Square Garden Tour will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 29. The event, which benefits the Wilkins School Community Center, will feature a light brunch, mimosas, residential gardens and an orchard and gardens that support a food bank at the Second United Presbyterian Church of Wilkinsburg.
