Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens will hold its annual Gifts and Greens Market Dec. 5-7 at Phipps Garden Center in Mellon Park. Fresh greens, wreaths and other holiday gifts will be available 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Dec. 5-6 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 7.

Other holiday events include:

* Winter Flower Show and Winter Light Garden (Nov. 29-Jan. 12).

* Santa Visits (Saturdays and Sundays, Nov. 30-Dec. 22, plus Nov. 29 and Dec. 2).

* Candlelight Evenings (Nov. 29-Jan. 12).

* Brunch in Bloom (Sundays in December).

* Family Fun Days (Dec. 26-30).

* New Year's Eve Family Celebration (Dec. 31).

Wright House tour

The 1816 Wright House Museum will be open for its seventh annual holiday tour from noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 8.

The Peters Creek Historical Society decorates the 10-room post-Colonial house and 1770s log house, both at 815 Venetia Road in Peters (15317), in Williamsburg style and offers live music, a professional storyteller and visits with Father Christmas (bring your camera).

The Candlelight Soup and Stroll, which includes homemade soups, breads and desserts, is part of the experience, and events also extend to neighboring Wright's United Methodist Church.

Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for children under 10. Handicapped-accessible parking is available.

Old Allegheny Christmas Tour

The 32nd annual Old Allegheny Victorian Christmas House Tour is scheduled for Dec. 13-14.

There will be a guided tour, a chance to visit a toy train exhibit and a brunch tour. The lunch and dinner tours are sold out.

The personally guided tours give a glimpse into a bygone era during visits to restored Victorian homes that are lavishly decorated for the holidays in 19th-century style. Also, there will an opportunity to visit a toy train museum, a private collection of hundreds of colorful train sets from the early 20th century.

Tours will be scheduled at 12-minute intervals between 5 and 8 p.m. Dec. 13 and 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Dec. 14. Reservations are required.

Tickets for the regular tour are $25 per person. Tickets for the model train exhibit are $10 per person. Brunch tours ($55) on Dec. 14 start in a private residence.

The guided tours will originate from Calvary United Methodist Church at Allegheny and Beech avenues.

Ticket quantities are limited.
