Casellula @ Alphabet City is the first dining spot in Pittsburgh to end its no-tipping policy, just 10 months after it opened.
At the July Food Truck RoundUp in the Strip District, I tried Savoy on Wheels’ Sriracha Chicken Waffle Slider and Cheesesteak, both $8. The chicken was flavorful and moist with crispy breading and an excellent sauce that was sweet-spicy but not too hot. The waffle, however, was soggy and not that flavorful.
The meat on the cheesesteak was savory and tender while smothered in cheese and sauteed bell peppers, onions and mushrooms. But the roll was too big for the sandwich.
The staff was courteous, helpful and professional and their social media skills are strong, with regular schedule updates and inclement weather cancellation warnings and notifications.
