The North Side landmark will have its last day Nov. 11.
Leena’s Food Truck serves the same Palestinian food as the Oakland restaurant that gave it its name. Everything on the menu is under $10, which might be one reason why customers were willing to wait an hour for them to fix a generator at Pittsburgh’s VegFest in July.
The staff was understandably frazzled after the delay and hurried to prepare my veggie wrap, spinach pie and loaded fries. The best part was the veggie wrap -- fresh, tangy and the perfect vegetable crunch packed into a light and fluffy pita. The fries were covered in a rust-brown seasoning and tasted pungently of vinegar. Finally, I came to the piping hot spinach pie, which was so sour that I couldn’t eat it. Let’s chalk this one up to a bad day.
