Fox Chapel resident Lani Lazzari isn't a typical teen.
By age 11, she had started her own line of all-natural face and body scrubs called Simple Sugars as an alternative to store-bought products that irritated her sensitive, eczema-prone skin. By the time she turned 18, the scrub had caught the attention of Teen Vogue, Seventeen and Allure magazines, and Lani had done several TV and radio spots.
Now The Ellis School graduate is poised for prime-time TV. She will appear Friday on ABC's reality show "Shark Tank" as one of the youngest entrepreneurs in the show's history to pitch her product to its panel of wealthy investors.
"The whole thing was actually pretty awesome. I wasn't nervous at all, definitely excited but not nervous," Lani told media.
Did "the sharks" bite? Tune in at 9 p.m. to find out.
