Hartwood Restaurant lobster fest
Hartwood Restaurant will celebrate lobster with a special menu through Aug. 30. Appetizers include tempura fried lobsters and shrimp skewers ($13) while entrees list a 11⁄4 pound lobster stuffed lobster with brown butter and hollandaise ($30); lobster and shrimp pappardelle ($25), and lobster and crab croquettes ($25).
Phipps hosts Garden to Plate dinner
The Garden to Plate Dinner will be held Sept. 7 in the garden at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens starting at 6:30 p.m. with a V.I.P. reception and 7:30 p.m. dinner.

Altius opens for Sunday brunch
Altius on Mount Washington starts brunch service Aug. 17, a prix fixe, $29 two-course meal that includes a cocktail or fresh squeezed juice. Seasonal fruit, grilled flatbread and oysters round out the first courses, while a selection of quiche, Jamison Farm lamb sausage, shirred eggs, and a chicken and waffle sandwich are included among main courses. Brunch will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday following the debut.
Notion to dress up Pittsburgh dishes
Dave Racicot will pay tribute to iconic Pittsburgh dishes Sept. 17-20 with a six-course tasting menu a local will love.
The menu will include a Pittsburgh salad, pierogies, cabbage rolls, chipped ham, city chicken, haluski, kielbasa, and a dessert riff on Clark candy bars and Klondike bars

Cloak Room to open this month
The former Shadow Lounge space dubbed The Cloak Room will open Aug. 23 in East Liberty. Adjacent to The Livermore on South Highland Avenue, the event space will debut with trombonist Hill Jordan and his band. After the weekend, programmed events will run Thursday through Saturday nights.
Sienna Mercato’s Mezzo gears up
Mezzo is hiring servers and other staff for the most food-centric restaurant at the Sienna Mercato location Downtown. The Penn Avenue space includes Emporio: A Meatball Joint and the Il Tetto rooftop.
Billed as a charcuterie and artisan pizza restaurant, Mezzo will also offer open-air dining. Candidates are required to have had two years of fine dining experience and a working knowledge of wine.
