Le Pommier, a French restaurant on the South Side, will be closed indefinitely after it was damaged by a fire early Sunday morning.

The restaurant opened in 1984. In 2009, Ed Dunlap, the president and CEO of Centimark Corp. in Cecil, purchased Le Pommier and added it to his Culinary Concepts of Pittsburgh restaurant group, which also includes Le Mont on Mount Washington and Pazzo Ristorante in Mt. Lebanon.

According to restaurant spokeswoman Kathy Slencak, they are "waiting for the insurance investigators to confirm the cause of the fire, the extent of the damage [and] the cost of repairs." She also said that Le Pommier's employees will be moved to other Culinary Concepts of Pittsburgh restaurants or to Damon's Grill & Sports Bar, which Mr. Dunlap also owns.
