In your Oct. 2 editorial "Shutdown: House Republicans Hurt the U.S. Here and Abroad," you insist efforts of Tea Party Republicans to "defund the legislation before it takes effect is harmful and vindictive." Were you unhappy with former Speaker Nancy Pelosi's position three years ago that the 1,000-page Affordable Care Act should be passed so that we could learn what it says?
Does the editorial board of the PG really believe it is inappropriate for legislation to be challenged before it takes effect, particularly when more than a thousand pages of rules, regulations and alterations have been added in the three years since its passage in connection with implementation of the monster?
Which members of your editorial board have read and analyzed all of those pages? And have I missed a thorough, detailed analysis of their contents provided by One of America's Great Newspapers to your readers so they may constitute an informed public?
