While I was visiting family last week, I saw the opinion pieces about my alma mater, Duquesne University. As a 1990 graduate of Duquesne's McAnulty College of Liberal Arts, I wanted to express my support for the Sept. 24 opinion piece "Duquesne Treats All of Its Employees Fairly."
When a person chooses to accept a part-time job, he or she also chooses to accept the terms that go along with that offer of employment. Before he or she signs on the dotted line, the person has a personal choice to seek a different opportunity if he or she wants or needs different pay or benefits. Blaming Duquesne or the thousands of other employers who offer part-time jobs is wrong.
