The story "Pontiff Faults Church Focus on Dogma" (Sept. 20) was front-page news. The pope advises against putting moral dogma over serving the poor and the marginalized. Then on Page A-5 the same day: "House Votes to Cut $4 Billion a Year From Food Stamps."
How many good people in congressional District 3 (Rep. Mike Kelly), District 18 (Rep. Tim Murphy) and District 9 (Rep. Bill Shuster) will be painfully marginalized by the vote from those three Republicans to cut economic security for thousands in Western Pennsylvania?
Republican dogma vs. doing what's right for Pennsylvanians isn't what we voted for.
