I can't agree more with letter writer Lynn Kramer ("Speeding Cyclists," Sept. 17) that we cyclists should give out the warning "Passing on your left" when approaching walkers, joggers, etc. -- as I always do.
Sometimes, however, the walkers and joggers don't hear me for they are plugged into their headsets, which is not a good idea.
I wish the city would encourage walkers and joggers to stay to the left so that they see the cyclists coming toward them. It's not unusual on our country roads to see walkers staying to the left so that they see the oncoming traffic. It's the safest way.
