Please allow me to vent. Every year when the announcement is made as to whom the Kennedy Center honorees will be, I get upset again as to their selections. For too many years now one of the world's greatest entertainers, Mickey Rooney, is again bypassed. From what I understand, Mr. Rooney (now 95 years of age) is not in the best of health but nonetheless is deserving of the award, even if it is given in his absence. His life with us is growing short.
I'm not saying other honorees are not worthy of the award but that Mr. Rooney should be among them. I have written to the Kennedy Center but to no avail.
