Our president presented a showcase display of "American morality" to the world recently, when he referenced the gassing of 400 children on the occasion of his announced decision to consult Congress before military strikes on Syria. While he was speaking, the rest of the world was not supposed to notice one small detail.
As he expressed the depth of his moral outrage, our nation's abortion mills were operating at full bore, tearing the bodies of infants to pieces. This he condones and supports domestically and throughout the world in the name of the American people. So much for our president's credibility on the value of life. This state of affairs practically tells the rest of the world that you can murder children as long as it is not by gas.
The root cause of the suffering in the Middle East is the lack of respect for the freedom of religion. How much credibility does our president have in promoting freedom of religion around the world when, in his own country, he is attacking religious freedom as evidenced by the rash of lawsuits needed to defend against his forced compliance with unjust laws? The cost of legal defense is a very real persecution and just as devastating to the charitable efforts of those religious organizations.
Our founding forefathers were acutely aware of their need for God's protection and blessings. Today, we are systematically removing God from every aspect of our lives and laws and replacing Him with the worship of the "popularity god."
Many politicians end their speeches with "may God bless America." With arrogance and defiance of His law we have made legal the murder of innocent children and the immorality of same-sex "marriage." Both of these sins stink in the nostrils of God, so why should He bless and defend America against its enemies?
