I am writing in answer to the Aug. 27 letter from Richard E. Zimmer Jr. ("Unruly Children"). Kudos to him because he wrote what so many of us agree with.
The children ride skateboards, scooters, toy cars and box cars in the middle of the street. Where I live, we are on a hill, and at the bottom of the hill, there is a three-way traffic corner. I hold my breath because I fear one of these days a tragedy will happen. If I ever want to be wrong, this is the time.
There is a park in the neighborhood, so I wish the children would play there for their own safety. And I wish they would be supervised.
As for the topic of barking dogs, which started this discussion in the PG, I do my best to keep my dog as quiet as possible.
