In the words of the late, great Bob Prince when the Bucs were going good, "How sweet it is!" Well, I cannot emphasize those words any stronger. Indeed, how sweet it is!
After so many years of languishing in the baseball dungeon and being such a laughingstock, the Pirates have finally managed to put a team on the field to be proud of and respected. You must give credit to them for sticking to a plan to build the farm system and, with sensible spending, rising to these heights. Not only are we no longer the butt of national jokes, but the team is now appearing regularly on national broadcasts.
I know there are more games to play and more to accomplish, but at least we have this moment and something to hope for realistically.
It is too bad Prince isn't here to revel in it as well.
