I would like someone to explain to me just how the elected state attorney general can decide not to defend Pennsylvania's law defining marriage. My understanding is that Kathleen Kane is the attorney general of all of Pennsylvania, not just the attorney general of the liberal population. That being the case, Ms. Kane is under obligation to defend all the written laws of the commonwealth, not just the laws that she is in agreement with.
If Ms. Kane does not intend to defend all the laws of this commonwealth, then she should resign and let someone who will defend the laws take her place. I do not see that she has any other choice. Defend the law or resign!
