Who authorized a mere private first class like Bradley Manning to have access to files that could compromise national security ("Military Trial Begins for Army Private in WikiLeaks Scandal," June 4)? I was once a private first class and, in my day, a job such as he had required an officer, preferably of the flag rank.
2. Also, where do these researchers get off patenting, for their own profitable purpose, discoveries they make while on federal grants?
3. Third, doesn't the Internal Revenue Service have a right to red-flag these so-called nonprofit organizations if experience demonstrates them to be frequent abusers of nonprofit status? Anyway, they are very far from apolitical, as the regulations require, so I believe they should disclose their donors.
