I am amazed at Congress' lack of cooperation in the process of governing. The U.S. Senate has the obligation to vote on the president's nominees for high office, and some inquiry into a nominee's background is normal. However, Republicans sent more than 1,000 written questions to the proposed nominee to head the Environmental Protection Agency and boycotted a hearing in an effort to keep the EPA from functioning.
This is carrying partisan extremism much too far. The Republican senators are actually trying to bring government to a halt. It is sad evidence of their lack of patriotism when they do all they can to make sure the administration cannot function.
It is a further insult that when disasters happen, like Benghazi, they blame the administration when it is the Republican-led House of Representatives blocking adequate funding to the State Department.
