I'll take Twitter

I'm writing about columnist Tony Norman implying that "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" is a preferable news source to social media, which perplexes me ("There's Bad News About Kids These Days," April 26).

In my albeit limited experience with "The Daily Show," I believe its use of comedic license, such as its truncating of political speeches and its emphasis on ridicule, all to achieve a cheap laugh, to be perhaps the worst way to promote, as Mr. Norman said, "the kind of informed citizenry necessary to maintain a functioning democracy."

The kids are better off with Twitter.
