I am looking for a Pittsburgh that steps up into the 21st century with progressive ideas.
With hats off to the traffic light project in East Liberty and to the Phipps Conservatory green building, we need to have more public progress.
Since we have to rebuild our sewage treatment plant, why are we not harvesting the waste into a fuel to use to run the plant? Why with the windfall of dollars at the airport are we not planning for a solar parking lot like California State University Northridge has installed?
Why can't we enter a transit vehicle in Downtown or Oakland dragging our wheeled luggage and exit the same way at the airport? For that matter, why not even on the ride from the parking lot? Why do you have to climb steps on the bus?
While I don't think I am the only one with ideas, why do we not ever hear them discussed?
We need new progressive ideas, thinking and action in this town.
