The latest generation of Pittsburghers (and I would also include a lot of Americans outside of our great city) harbor ill feelings toward the rich. Some of our greatest institutions in Pittsburgh bear the names of these 1 percent elitists.
Although I am just a middle of the road person I don't resent the rich. In fact, as a young son of a Homestead mill worker and homemaker mother, I learned young that hard work can get you where you want to go.
Did the 1 percent always do everything correctly? No, but neither do most of us. Envy of others and I believe the goal of a lot of news organizations (including yours) to stir the pot don't feed one hungry person.
People need to learn that there is a value to hard work, and bringing down the rich won't put a penny in their pockets.
