Shame on us and the 10 school districts that can't find room for 350 kids in Duquesne's elementary schools ("City Schools Still Considering Accepting Duquesne Students," March 30).
Based on my 3R education, $8,000 per student could pay 35 teachers $60K each to teach just 10 kids per class and still have money left over for supplies and classroom space.
Maybe we should take away some of the subsidy from those districts and redistribute it to the Pittsburgh Public Schools. Maybe we all need to rethink the formula used to support a busted system of education. Explain that to those kids.
