On March 21, there was an explosion and fire in my apartment building on Bayard Road. In minutes, firefighters, police and EMS were there.
All crews were efficient, kind and helpful. They helped calm us.
Also, I want to let everyone know about the Salvation Army, Red Cross and the Department of Aging, which made sure we were taken care of. American Eagle provided clothing and blankets. We are all grateful to them.
Winchester Thurston opened its doors and fed us. It had cots for people who did not have a place to sleep that night.
Thanks to all of them for everything. We all should be very proud to have such special people in our city.
Thanks to my family for their help and love. It made life a little easier in this horrible time. And thanks to my friends.
