I am writing to thank Norma Alicea-Alvarez for her March 30 letter "A Daughter's Love" about her father -- more a beautiful story than a letter to the editor.
What a wonderful opportunity for us all to remember those beloved who have passed on and also for us to remember to make time for the conversations like the one she describes with the ones who are still here.
I liked reading it on this holiday weekend, a time with sweet memories of parents and children, eggs and rituals and songs.
I like finding these treasures in the Post-Gazette. I feel compelled to read the harder stories that fill the paper and, when I find one like Norma's, I remember that there is so much love to be found in the midst of the big and the small wars of humanity.
Thank you for publishing it.
