"Decade Later, Iraq War Foes Look Only Wiser" (March 26) was a great column by Tony Norman. How catastrophic events can fade into memory, leaving the perpetrators off scot-free, is beyond me.
Now, the vision of 20 caskets is following that same demise. Lawmakers can't find it in them to pass an assault weapons ban.
One would think "not from my cold dead hands" would have been pried out of our memories by both the killings in Newtown, Conn., and the Iraq War. No, guns don't kill children, speeding bullets do. Unlike those who abuse alcohol in drunken driving incidents, perpetrators of gun violence cannot be held liable for ammunition and weapon abuse.
