As I started to read your editorial on House Bill 790 ("Liquor Milestone: Senate Republicans Must Join the Drive for Reform" March 24) I expected the usual terms used in all such articles to inflame emotions rather than logic. However, I did not expect you to fall to the level of advocating the governor use threats and intimidation to secure the votes he needs from his fellow Republicans.
To demand that he "line item veto legislative projects" and "run primary challengers" against senators that he is unable to sway based on the merits of the bill is reprehensible. Although we all know this is how politicians work, it is neither good policy nor good government. And for you as supposed "watchdogs" of government to demand it is disheartening.
