Rothfus is right about disaster relief

The feigned anguish of those letter writers who castigated Rep. U.S. Keith Rothfus for his brave stand in calling attention to the need for some sense in the Hurricane Sandy relief bill is nauseating.

Mr. Rothfus knew political hacks would put up their bleeding-heart statements to try to make him out to be uncaring. But he had the courage to take an unpopular stand against a bill that is pork-laden.

Anyone who has met or followed Keith Rothfus in his career knows him to be a man of compassion and courage. He correctly points out that sense has to be combined with spending, no matter the purpose.

He rightly says that the bill should be for relief of the folks affected by Sandy, not for the political pork that others have pumped into it!
