Elections are exciting. But they are also hard work. I would like to thank my board of elections in the city of Pittsburgh, and all other people who volunteer over 15 hours in a day to work at the polls and make sure democracy works. (My constable is 97 years old!)
I also want to thank the Allegheny County workers for making the process of turning in the results smooth and easy -- from the people loading crates of equipment to the police officers directing traffic. They are efficient and impressive professionals. It makes me proud of my city. It should make you proud, too!
