Regarding the Oct. 23 editorial "Critz for Congress": In a search for bipartisan solutions and a centralist, the Post-Gazette endorsed Mark Critz for Congress. As a resident in the 12th Congressional District, I have attempted to look beyond the rhetoric.
In the case of Rep. Critz, we have a voting record that does not square with bipartisanship or centralist claims. His very first vote will be for House leadership. He will, as he has in the past, vote to install House leadership that will not control spending and balance the budget. Their plan is for continuing $1 trillion deficits and higher energy costs for all Americans.
Rep. Critz's first vote will be for the leadership that will regulate Pennsylvania coal out of business, limit Pennsylvania's gas energy production and promote an agenda that is anti-life, anti-gun and anti-religious. We must look beyond his ads and the spin to determine how he will govern.
The evidence is clear. Just look at what is happening to Pennsylvania's coal and energy jobs and the price of gas and groceries with Mr. Critz "fighting for us." I don't know about you, but I think it is time for a real fighter.
