Leech Tishman said that lawyer Jessica Ziemski was chosen by the Western Pennsylvania chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as one of "Pittsburgh's 50 Finest."
Ms. Ziemski is an associate in the litigation and employment practice groups and focuses her practice mainly on the representation of businesses and individuals in commercial disputes and employment litigation. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and started her career with Leech Tishman while she was attending law school. Pittsburgh's "50 Finest" is group of eligible men and women honored each year for their involvement in the Pittsburgh community. Each of the 50 Finest honorees commits o raising as much money as possible, a minimum of $2,500, in advance of the group'sa summer gala.
Eckert Seamans Cherin and Mellott, LLC elected the following attorneys to partner-level membership in its Pittsburgh office: Stephen A. Bucchianeri, Sarah L. Carlins, Louis A. DePaul and Michael A. Wessell.
Mr. Bucchianeri's intellectual property law practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications across a variety of technical fields. Prior to joining Eckert Seamans, Mr. Bucchianeri served as patent counsel for a major agriculture and construction equipment manufacturer.
Ms. Carlins represents hospital systems, physician practices and nursing homes in various states, advising on affiliation, management, medical staff privileging, disciplinary actions and licensing hearings, as well as federal and state fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA compliance and related risk management matters.
Mr. DePaul concentrates his practice on business litigation, including complex commercial, product liability, real estate, intellectual property, bankruptcy and employment disputes.
Mr. Wessell has a broad range of experience in corporate and transactional matters, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, debt and equity financings, hospitality law, corporate governance and general corporate matters.
Joseph R. Williams, associate at Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC, was elected to serve a three-year term on the Board of Governors for the Duquesne Law Alumni Association. Mr. Williams is a graduate of Duquesne's School of Law. He authors materials for Continuing Legal Education programs as well as media outlets and was named to the 2012 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Stars listings.
