The Power's dwindling playoff hopes took another hit with a 59-54 loss to the New Orleans VooDoo Saturday night in Arena Football League action at Consol Energy Center. The loss was the team's fourth in a row after a brief stretch of success in which it won two of three games.
Power quarterback Steven Sheffield completed 32 of 47 passes for 338 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception. Five of those touchdowns went to wide receiver and Aliquippa product Mike Washington, who set a franchise single-game record.
The Power, which dropped to 3-11, outgained the VooDoo in total yards, 327-266, and had a significant advantage in time of possession, 39:14-20:46.
The team returns Saturday with a game at the Cleveland Gladiators.
