Meyer, Unkovic & Scott announced that two of its attorneys, Ronald L. Hicks Jr. and Nicholas Bell, have been elected to leadership positions at the Allegheny County Bar Association.

Mr. Hicks, partner, was elected to the ACBA Judiciary Committee for a three-year term. A member of the firm's management committee and vice chair of its business and tort litigation group, Mr. Hicks is a civil trial and appellate lawyer who works with businesses and individuals, with particular service to the gay, lesbian and non-traditional family business community. He graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law.

Mr. Bell was elected to a two-year term on the Council of the Young Lawyers Division of the ACBA, which promotes leadership and continuing education opportunities among lawyers who have been practicing for less than 10 years. Mr. Bell, an associate, is a member of the firm's litigation and dispute resolution group and represents clients in commercial and business disputes in state and federal courts. He earned a dual J.D. and master's of business administration from Duquesne University.

Julian E. Gray and Frank A. Petrich, elder law attorneys with Julian Gray Associates, were named Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for 2013. Mr. Gray, founder and principal, concentrates in the area of elder law and disability planning, with emphasis on veterans' benefits. Mr. Petrich was the first attorney certified as an elder law attorney in Western Pennsylvania, as granted by the National Elder Law Foundation. He concentrates in estate planning and administration. Mr. Gray and Mr. Petrich co-author the monthly elder law column in the Post-Gazette.

Sherrard, German & Kelly, P.C. announced that Edward G. Rice was elected to the board of the Financial Industries Network, a social and professional network of financial industry professionals.

For the eighth year in a row, all five partners of family law firm Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC have been named to the list of Pennsylvania Super Lawyers. Several associates were named to the list of 2013 Pennsylvania Rising Stars, and founding partner David S. Pollock celebrated a decade in the listings this year. Firm partners Mr. Pollock, Todd M. Begg, Candice L. Komar, Daniel H. Glasser and Brian C. Vertz were named to the 2013 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers. In addition, Mr. Pollock was among the 2013 Top 50 Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Super Lawyers. Ms. Komar also earned distinction as one of the Top 50 Women Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for the fifth year in a row. Named to the 2013 Pennsylvania Rising Stars list: Stephanie L. Jablon, Benjamin E. Orsatti, Angelica L. Revelant and Joseph R. Williams.

The 2012 edition of "Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business" recognized Paul (Mickey) Pohl, leader of the domestic business and tort litigation practice at Jones Day; Laura Ellsworth, partner-in-charge of the Pittsburgh office; and partner Roy Powell in the Pennsylvania commercial litigation category. Firm-wide, 172 Jones Day lawyers were recognized.
