Central Catholic trailed by 15 after the first quarter, but Sam Calhoun led the Vikings back.

Calhoun scored a career-high 29 points, including the winning 3-pointer with 3 seconds left, to give host Central Catholic (15-5, 11-2) a 79-76 victory against Class AAAA No. 5 Gateway (13-5, 10-3).

The Gators, who beat the Vikings in last season's WPIAL Class AAAA championship and earlier this season, jumped out to a 29-14 lead and still led by nine entering the fourth quarter.

But Calhoun kept his team in the game by hitting six 3-pointers, also a career high. David Urso added 20 for the Vikings.
