The Seton Hill University women's basketball team is having a solid season, and all five starters are from the WPIAL.
Katie Gattuso (pictured) is a junior forward from Seton-LaSalle High School. She leads Seton Hill in scoring at 16.4 points and also rebounds at 12.1.
Paige Alviani, a junior guard from Hopewell, is second on the team in scoring at 15.4 points. She also is shooting 44 percent from 3-point range.
The other three starters from the WPIAL are sophomore guard Meghan Mastroianni (Montour), senior Clare Berenato (Oakland Catholic) and junior guard Tiara Stossel (Indiana).
Seton Hill plays in NCAA Division II and has a 10-7 record.
• The West Liberty University men's basketball team is ranked No. 1 in the country in NCAA Division II and one of the team's top players is from the WPIAL. C.J. Hester is a 6-foot-4 sophomore forward from West Mifflin High School who is averaging 14.3 points and 9.4 rebounds. He is among the top 10 in the country in field-goal percentage at 65 percent. Two other WPIAL players on the West Liberty team are redshirt freshman Mike Lamberti (3.3 ppg) of South Fayette and junior Jeff Yunetz (2.7 ppg) from Latrobe.
West Liberty is leading Division II in scoring at 109 points a game.
