Walnut Capital Real Estate Services Inc. has named Susan Lesczynski as the broker of record and manager of its new Irwin office, which opened May 1. She will continue as broker of record for the firm's Shadyside office. She has been a licensed real estate agent since 1995.

Lesczynski is a graduate of East Allegheny High School and received a bachelor's degree in business from Seton Hill College.

Inez Fleming has joined Cuppy Real Estate. Formerly with Glenn Cook Real Estate Co., Fleming will specialize in listing and selling in the East End and Fox Chapel markets. She is a member of the Westmoreland Board of Realtors and the Palm Beach Board of Realtors.

Howard W. "Hoby" Hanna IV, vice president and valley regional manager of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, was a principal speaker at Real Trends magazine's Gathering of the Eagles Conference held May 1-3 in Chicago.

Hanna discussed the pros and cons of franchises vs. ownership and reviewed the company's experience with franchising.

Northwood Realty Services has hired new sales agents.

Bob Haas of Emlenton, Venango County, has joined the Butler office. He is a former president of the Allegheny-Clarion Valley Area Kiwanis Club and past principal of two high schools -- Allegheny-Clarion Valley and Venango Catholic. He has worked in real estate since 1963.

Beverly Schatzel, Charles Ponds and Tom Naughton have joined the McCandless office. Schatzel, a Ross resident, is a certified project manager with 30 years' business experience. Ponds, who lives in McCandless, is currently enrolled in the graduate business program at Robert Morris University and is a running back with the Pittsburgh Colts, a semi-pro football team. Naughton is a graduate of North Hills High School and former owner of Thomas Naughton Landscaping.

Bryan Yost of McMurray is a new agent in the McMurray office. He is the owner of BR Enterprises, an investment and financial consulting business.

Susan Vilasi of Hermitage has joined the Shenango Valley office. She received her bachelor's degree in education from Slippery Rock University.

Rose Mance and Diane Wroblewski, sales associates from the North Hills office of Coldwell Banker Real Estate Inc., were recently recognized by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for their support at its annual Northern Allegheny County Luncheon.

Mance and Wroblewski hosted a fund-raising table, and gathered donated items that were auctioned off during the luncheon. They were honored for raising the most money at their table.

The luncheon raised more than $11,000 for cancer research and patient aid programs. Mance and Wroblew- ski have been participating in the event for seven years.

Several Howard Hanna sales associates were recognized for excellence at the Washington-Greene Association of Realtors 2001 Circle of Excellence Awards Banquet.

Diamond awardees were Mary Eve Kearns, Peters office; and Julie Graham, Washington.

Ruby awardees: Holly Corace and Carol McCloskey, Peters; and Patricia Wright and Dorothy Walsko, Washington.

Gold awardees: Rose Miller and Mary Dunbar, Peters; and Shirley Cassedy, Washington.

Silver awardees: Gretchen Means, Charlotte Herron, Donald Ewart and Richard McCann, Washington; and Donna Hollander, Mavis Herring and Patricia Merdian, Peters.

Bronze awardees: Linda Frickey and Jim Michler, Washington; Mary Ellen Ulicny, Donna Burns, Rita Liebman and Karen Scharf, Peters.

Linda Honeywill of Prudential Preferred Realty's North Hills office was top sales associate for residential sales for the month of March.

Barb Baker and Bob Main of the Route 19 South office were No. 1 for residential listings and new construction listings, and Kathy Hall and Betsy Wotherspoon of the North Hills office were tops in residential listings sold. The leader in new construction listings sold was Helen Nseir of the Greensburg office. The top loan originator for Pennsylvania Preferred Mortgage Corp. was Sue Klose.

The model at The Cove at St. Charles, a townhome community on the Allegheny River in O'Hara, is now open.
